DAY 12 &/13

DRIVE FROM SEEFELD TO MUNICH, GERMANY

On our final day in Austria, we boarded our small bus and drove to Munich. We stayed at the Marriott Munich Airport (website) located in the town of Freising about a 15 minutes drive to/from the airport.

Since our bus did not take us through Munich, I chose to take a local train to Marienplatz in Munich for a quick tour of the central part of this picturesque city. I lifted a stein at the famous Hofbrau Haus, bought a few souvenirs and boarded the train back to Freising (which requires one to chose the proper car on the train or you end up at the airport instead.)

Later that evening, our group and leader went together for a farewell dinner at a nearby restaurant in Freising. It was a delightful evening and we had many laughs and shared final stories, and then bade farewell. The next morning we took separate shuttles to meet our different departures at the Munich Airport.  A memorable alpine adventure.
